The following screenshot shows the output of /etc/init.d/coldfusion_9 and /etc/init.d/httpd. One of these correctly uses the /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions library to echo the starting and stoping states. One thinks it is a beautiful and unique snowflake that should output it's special information, rather than a simple pass/fail.
