The front bumper on my truck had a dent. I was driving to an event with a friend. She was talking to me, and I was distracted enough not to notice that the jackass in front of me had stopped abruptly, as jackasses are wont to do on the 101 southbound at Woodland Hills. It left a deep square dent in my bumper, but otherwise did no damage. For several weeks, I've considered replacing the bumper or wondering if I could repair it myself. Apparently, the discomfort of looking at the dent got the better of me yesterday. I unbolted it, hammered out the dent from the back side, and touched it up with some appliance enamel repair paint. Total cost: zero dollars. It isn't anything a professional wouldn't laugh at, but it's less ugly than before.
